Gramophone needles tins were mostly small, easy to transport or taking few place on the gramophone. However, in this era like for the shapes, producers seem to have enjoyed to offer a variety and produced large sized tins for 500, 1000, even 10000 needles en vrac. Other large tins were made to present an assortment of the different tins of one brand: in those cases they were not intended for direct sale but for representation.
